Why European Timber Windows & Doors?

Manufacturing & Craftsmanship

All our fenestration and  joinery is proudly made in Australia, under one roof, by our team of dedicated Joiners, Carpenters, and Apprentices.

Every step of our manufacturing is undertaken by a team of  trades people. Nothing is outsourced or sub-contracted. In this way, we ensure the quality and performance of everything we make.

Our process of excellence and craftsmanship features:

  • systematic sorting, sticking and stacking of rough sawn timber on arrival
  • thoughtful machining and laminating of scantling
  • precise dressing, tenoning, mortising and gluing of all joints
  • meticulous sanding of all components
  • skilled application of layers of finishes
  • exact fitting of European multi-point lock hardware and advanced seals,
  • crowned with technically advanced glazing.

Design & Performance

Quality products that perform to the highest levels begins with good design. Just as each building is unique, likewise the composition, formats, context and orientation of fenestration.  We consider the configuration and performance of each window, door, or timber curtain wall element. All our projects are unique, we work through a design specification process, to achieve the best aesthetic and performance solutions.

With our exemplary engineered systems, we can manufacture elements with enormous glass to frame ratios; with system weights of up to 500kg per panel, sliding doors to 400kg, openable windows to 200kg.

All with multipoint locking - Secured by Design®.

We use the highest performance glazing options: low iron ultra-clear, acoustic laminated, low emissivity, heat-absorbing, Argon filled, warm edge spacers. This enables the best in glare control, visual, thermal & acoustic performance.

Triple glazing to Ug-value 0.5 W/m2K (R-value 2.0 m2K/W), with glass optimised for Australian conditions.

Our windows, doors & façades can perform better than walls; Uw-values as low as 0.6 W/m2K (R-value 1.7 m2K/W),  perfect for quiet, low-energy, high comfort buildings.

Also optimised for South facing orientations, enabling glare-free daylighting design strategies.

Integrated external blind solutions for optimal shading in the window and door plane, with options of controlled perforations to allow visibility out, and maintaining privacy.

We also have internal blind solutions.

A range of classic and contemporary handles are also available. With a range of materials and finishes from anodised, stainless steel, nickel, aged and weather brass and bronze, copper, and pewter.

Every project is different and treated as such. We are not a mass producer of windows and doors, and because of this we have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in every aspect of a project from initial design work until the last piece of glass is installed on site and one final check of the joinery is complete.

Tradition, Trade, Training

Amongst our directors are multigenerational Carpenters, Joiners and Engineers,  who are continuing the timber trade traditions in Melbourne, Australia. At our 1500m2 workshop, and job sites, we fully employ a range of European and Australian qualified trades people,  supported by young local apprentices, to continue the tradition of excellence, skill and craftsmanship in the manufacturing and installing of the finest high performance  timber doors and windows.

Below:  Three generations of timber workers. Co-director, Peter with his father who trained in Germany as a Joiner,  and his two sons.  The eldest has completed his apprenticeship in Joinery, and is now undertaking an apprenticeship in Carpentry.

Above:  Co-director, James as a Carpenter & Joiner and Registered Builder, works closely on-site with Clients and Builders, and ensures all site works are seamlessly installed.
